Two Homegoings
This morning I was the recipient of news that David Entz, father to one of my piano students, and a Godly man, had died yesterday morning. His wife, Debbie, writes, "He was a man of incredible integrity and wisdom and we all have a big hole in our hearts...We are celebrating his life together with tears and laughter. Thank you for remembering each of us at this time."
A headline from the Wichita Eagle captured my attention as I perused the News on-line this morning, "Peter Wagler was 7 when his father, David, made him a plaque with the meaning of his name --"rock" -- and a Bible verse, Joshua 1:9: 'Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage," it said. "Do not be afraid nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.'" Just as I began reading the article, I received a phone call from a friend, passing on the same news - Peter Wagler, a Cpl. in the US Army, was killed this week while serving in Baghdad. Although I did not know Peter personally, I have worked with several of his sisters through the years.
I was reminded of the verse I read last night in Psalm 116:15,
"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints."
While we mourn the loss of these dear people, we rejoice at the testimony of their life and know that they are spending eternity in heaven with Jesus. May the Lord give their families comfort and hope during this time. I know that your prayers are greatly appreciated.

When we learn to trust God, and lean on him in our losses, even our losses then become conduits of the joy of relying on Christ.
Thanks for reminding us of this. We really all need to remember this, because someday each one of us will face the loss, in which we need to be certain of these things.
Wise words, indeed. Thanks for commenting, jfc.
