The Meaning of Life

In a couple of weeks my Mom and I will be hosting our second annual Neighborhood Ladies Christmas Tea. In preparation for the occasion, I am preparing a talk titled The Meaning of Life that I plan to share with the ladies. I would like to ask for input from any readers of my blog who would be willing to comment.

1. Use one word to describe what you would like your life to be like:

2. How would you summarize the meaning of life?

I keep coming up with more and more things that I want to say! However, I realize it might not be the most effective presentation of the Gospel if I launch into a 3-hour inspirational monologue. :-) I would greatly value your input and prayers as I continue organizing my thoughts and preparing for this opportunity.

Here is a short excerpt from a portion of my introduction:

Most of us could quickly describe ways that we would like our lives to be improved. And all around us, we are bombarded with offers from those who claim to be able to improve our quality of life. From better mattresses to interest-free credit to non-stick cookware to religious activities, almost everyone claims to have a solution to our quest for a better life. Yet still, the search for meaning continues. I remember watching a news special some time ago where the man who had been discovered to have the highest IQ was being interviewed. When asked what he hoped to accomplish with his incredible level of intelligence, he replied that he was working on a formula that would solve the meaning of life. I have no idea what my IQ level is, but let me tell you that the meaning of life will never be solved with a mathematical equation or a scientific formula. Today I want to share with you two keys for unlocking the meaning of life...
