What I’m doing:
Trying to relearn German and plan a travel itinerary.
Why I’m doing all of this:
Because, Lord-willing, I’m off to Europe for Christmas break! Woohoo! A friend (thanks, Mrs. A!) found me an amazing deal (round trip tickets out of Wichita for under $450!) and I’m going to go visit some good friends in Austria for a couple of weeks. I’ll primarily be in Austria, but I’m also hoping to get in touch with some of our former neighbors in Germany and go visit the town where we lived. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to fit everything I want to do into the time that I’ll be there. Mom and Dad wisely suggested doing fewer things and taking time to really enjoy them rather than trying to fit in too much. If anyone has suggestions of things I should definitely do or see in Austria (or any other general international travel advice), please send me an e-mail or leave me a comment and let me know!

Well, when I vacation in Europe, I really enjoy…
Ha! Like I’ve ever left this country, let alone traveled to Europe! What a joke.
But my goodness, it sounds like SUCH fun, girl. I’m sooo excited for you. I can’t wait to hear all about your grand adventures! Take LOTS of pictures, will you?
Smiles,
Myklin
That is so cool, Natalie! I can’t wait to see pictures too. Eric and I hope that someday we will get to go to Germany since that is where his family is from (though I don’t see it being anytime in the near future).
Blessings!

If you go to Nurnberg, try to go to the toy market and walk around the historic parts of the city… there is a beautiful square (which of course I can’t remember the name of) with a fountain in it and an old church that was rebuilt after the war that was really pretty. Also, in your European travels, be sure to get ice cream (if you get it at the right places its a work of art!
Have fun!
