Pictures from the Prairie

Last Saturday, Dad, Noelle, Naomi, Joey and I spent the day at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. Dad is the President of a Volksmarch club that sponsors a walk out there each year. It’s one of my favorite places to go.

The way the sun was casting shadows on the hills made this picture look almost like a painting!
Looking through the wildflowers into the open hills beyond – the hills are covered with wildflowers this time of year.
A shot as we neared the end of the 10k walk – looking out over a few of the thousands of acres of tallgrass prairie being preserved in this part of Kansas.
Joey and I walked together and enjoyed looking at bugs, taking pictures and talking. The other three ended up finishing way ahead of us…but we had more fun!
